Dr Uta Boeger-Brown, Founder and Managing Director of BioMedEx, has 19 years’ experience managing conferences and exhibitions for a wide range of clients.
The success of BioMedEx is based on the excellent and longstanding working relationships that Uta has established with her clients. BioMedEx not only has a high level of repeat business but also an excellent reputation amongst exhibitors attending BioMedEx managed trade exhibitions, with many returning year after year.
Prior to founding BioMedEx in 1996, Uta worked in academic cancer research at the German Cancer Research Centre in Heidelberg, the CR UK Beatson Institute for Cancer Research in Glasgow and the Department of Genetics at the University of Glasgow.
Uta has been a full member of the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO) since July 2007 and represented associate members on the ABPCO Executive Committee from 2006 to 2007.
Membership of ABPCO is subject to eligibility based on professional experience, peer assessment and references from both sides of the supply chain. The ABPCO quality marque is an industry recognised standard that those working in the professional conference organising industry trust. Clients and suppliers can expect ABPCO members to deliver the highest business and ethical standards in the management of conferences and events.

Dr Carol Cumming
Carol joined BioMedEx in 2004 taking responsibility for registration management as well as providing first class on-site registration services. In 2012 Carol became Association Manager and is responsible for membership administration and for providing secretariat support. Carol also administers the professional accreditation scheme for one of her association clients.
Carol has a PhD in plant biochemistry and has worked in the department of Botany at the University of Glasgow and the Department of Life Sciences at the Glasgow Caledonian University.
Dr Helen Davies
Helen began working with BioMedEx in 2015 bringing over 13 years’ experience of managing scientific events, membership, grants and awards schemes for scientific learned societies to the company. Helen’s main area of expertise is in membership development and she is able to advise our clients on all aspects of their membership strategy from recruitment and retention to communications and engagement.
Helen has a PhD in Physiology from the University of Liverpool and was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Manchester.
Vanessa joined BioMedEx in 2012. Vanessa has in-depth knowledge and expertise in managing online registration and abstract submission systems and manages onsite delegate registrations and payments processing. In addition, Vanessa assists with procurement as well as negotiation of venue contracts.
Vanessa has an honours degree in Public Administration (economics, law and politics) from Teesside University.
Zoë established her web development and graphic design business, Rude Goose, in 2004. Rude Goose and BioMedEx have worked together for over ten years delivering branding, logo design and marketing solutions to our clients as well as fresh, current website design. We specialise in Joomla and WordPress Content management systems.
Zoë has a compulsion for high quality web coding and a drive to stay abreast of technological developments in the web design industry. Over the years the web has changed in exciting and previously unimaginable ways and trying to keep up is one of the great joys and challenges in website design.
Zoë is a design graduate of Glasgow School of Art.
